View this strip in the author's archives A conflict older than Batman vs Superman, more profound than Star Trek vs Star Wars. Warner Brothers tried to answer it, several times in fact, but who could judge the final outcome from just a few minutes filled with mitigating circumstances? Finally will we have the victor of Turtle vs Bunny?

A simple topic is a great start. There's no need for boring and complex backgrounds. Even when starting in the middle most readers will understand the premise immediately. Simple topics are hard to use up. Unlike the basic story formulas their appearance is obvious and you're not left to realize later you've read nothing more than another Hamlet or Star Wars.

View this strip in the author's archives The blandness of the topic takes nothing from the quality. With the main concept peripheral, the specific artist's quirks and cleverness show through. Instead of deducing the next plot event you notice content specific to each strip.

This is also another webcomic that bypasses dialog excellently. Language is wordy and few of those words impact the meaning. A quick drawing goes a long way and in Turtle vs Bunny some very elaborate ideas are constructed.
